As of June 15, 2012, there are 13 wildfires burning in Alaska, California, Washington, Idaho, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming.  Among these are the "worst fires in the southwest in US history," the Wallow fire in Arizona and New Mexico, reports wunderground.com.

Over 49,000 acres have already been charred in a huge Colorado fire that is only 16 percent contained so far. 

Over 504,409 acres have burned in Arizona and New Mexico, which is less than 50% contained at this time.
